Title: Advance post e-clip size
Post by: DomP on July 31, 2025, 04:18:43 PM
I'll admit it, I'm a fool!   I was disassembling my 5b550 advancer when one of the retaining e-clips shot off across my garage.  No amount of magnet searching has found it yet so im asking you kind folk if you know what size I need to buy and if they are different to off the shelf clips?  Measuring suggests 4mm.

If based on rebate diameter I think its 3mm.

VERY carefully remove the other one and use an undamaged drill shank to measure the circular "hole", that is the size to buy exras off for the 3 that will follow the first one.

TIP

Assemble it inside a plastic bag

That is a great tip Bryan!  Hopefully metric, a set of 300 odd various sizes is only £6 on ebay so the magnet search has been officially called off as of 1900hrs

The day the new ones arrive you'll find the original stuck to the sole of your shoe, sods law in action 🫩

Almost certainly,  in an effort not to be beaten I've stuck a load of neodymium magnets to a bar to wave over the floor...still no joy
