Hi, does anyone know if the CB400 four handlebars will fit onto a CB500 four as mine has got the USA type high bars on it and I would like the lower UK style ones fitted. Also will the smaller CB400 type rear tail light fit onto the rear light bracket of the CB500 four as that is the large type as well?
Thanks.

Bars may touch the tank on full lock, or at least the switches.
Rear light will not fit with the proper rubber mounts and spacers but will bolt on(bolts are slightly different distance apart) but complete assembly with bracket from a uk 400 should fit

"Bars may touch the tank on full lock, or at least the switches."
Are the 500 ones much longer? How long are they?
Has anyone got any CB500 bars for sale that they dont need anymore?

I do have a spare used cb400 f2 set of handle bars in gaily hood condition just a bit of pitting but clean up fairly well .

Its a "may" because i havent tried it, the later big switches get close to the tank standard so any less rise or more angle would make it worse

There used to be some replicas for sale, complete with holes for the wiring. Pretty cheap as well, around £30 iirc.
Quite a few members bought them so I’m sure someone will remember where they bought them.

Silvers still does pattern ones but the price has gone up, but then hasnt everything

Search ebay for cb550f handlebars, some on there at £34 or so.

My 500 bars with the wiring holes came from Bertram's Bits on ebay.

They’re currently out of stock on their website, have been for a while now.

Whatever, careful how you set your lower UK bars or the switch gear will contact the tank, I found out. ::)
