Title: Re-chroming
Post by: Alexgill2001 on October 01, 2025, 11:31:24 AM
Morning all, I need to get my exhausts re-chromed and at least one of them needs some attention with a hole so I assume a bit of cutting out and welding some new material in.
From the research I've done so far it appears most re-chroming services are now in Birmingham. I found a semi local one in Ashford, Kent but they don't deal with exhausts.
Does anyone know a good re-chroming service, pref in the South East if not one they can recommend elsewhere and I guess I'll have to post the items to them. Also do you know if they will repair the exhaust first an/or a recommendation for this service first?
Thanks
Alex

What bike is it for? You will be extremely lucky to find any chromer willing to do exhausts

For a CB550 K3. What are the other options then? Must be a way of getting it repaired?  Cheers

Hi Alex. A pal I volunteer with has just had exhausts chromed by an outfit in Alton, Hants. Not a million miles from you.  He partially fabricated them, but used the original headers. 4 week lead in with good results.
Worth chatting to them. Silvabronz. Let us know how you get on.
