As well as the Yamiya repro exhausts ....DS is also selling these ... does anyone know who makes them and what they are like?

I think I heard somewhere that these are made by Busso in Italy. Certainly cheap, but no idea of the quality.

I've just bought a set.
DSS confirmed that they are made by Busso.
They then tried to talk me into buying the Yamiya ones instead, warning that the Busso system may be "challenging" to fit.
Sadly the exhaust fixings on my K1/K4 hybrid have been converted to the F1 type - 8mm studs with split collets.
I'm going to have to fit the K type stubs to the head before I can enjoy the "challenge" and report on how easy/impossible they were to fit.
As for the quality, well, a trained eye will spot straight away the slight "necking" where the downpipes have been bent.
Busso have used a subtly different forming process here, and it does show.
As for the rest, well it looks pretty good, the heat shields are just as good as the genuine items.
Silencers maybe not quite as well finished, but good enough for me.
I've got to admit that the Yamiya system, at £1500 + VAT is incredibly good value, especially when you see what other dealers are asking.
But the Busso system is £460 less, and incudes £95 worth of heat shields.
Cheap and cheerful maybe, but hopefully they will perform just as well, and I'm not building a show bike

Out of interest: are the downpipes single- or double-walled?

If they are Busso I think there has been some reports on the US site of taking a bit off the downpipes on sets that came direct from Busso. I think James had a set.
-
Plus Busso pissed the US members off big time with constant delays

My thoughts we're that I've bought a replica "300" type system for just £1100 + VAT.
I've hesitated about buying stuff like this before, only to find it out of stock or face a massive price hike.
What bugs me is that, AFAIK, you can't buy these silencers separately.
So one spill on a patch of wet leaves and your mint exhaust is toast.
