Title: Carb Welding
Post by: tom400f on October 27, 2026, 04:38:09 PM
I have managed to crack the idle mixture screw orifice - breaking a bit off. This happens to be on a 1997 VFR750 carb but imagine that is irrelevant.

I feel like it should be possible to weld this back in place. Does anyone know of such a service they might recommend? There is a thread inside, obviously, if that would complicate matters.

Thanks if you know!

Probably cheaper to either buy a new bank of carbs or just that single carb tbh.

As the others say, probably best to source another - single if poss.  There is a great guy on here Roo, (laverdaroo) he got up to his neck repairing a VFR - might be worth asking (pm) if he has any spares or sources for same.

Roo has internet problems so he may not answer for a few days, bear with him.
