Hi all
Just arrived as a new member, bought a CB550, I was checking it out and found that there is a small amount of "float" in the front sprocket, if moved it will just rotate back a forth a mm or so, it's well screwed on but is this movement normal?
Thanks in advance :)
Yesterday I replaced a leaky front fork seal, the previous owner had someone change one side but not the other, and had a look at a problem with the horn, it has no wiring from the push button! I wonder what other mysteries await me....

Completely normal as long as it is the shaft that is moving.

The shaft stays still, it's the sprocket that moves when you rotate it against the shaft, just back and forth a tiny bit.

How is it fixed to the shaft? if it's with a small plate that is bolted to the sprocket and stops it from sliding off the shaft then some float is normal depending on the tolerance that the parts had when manufauctured.

OK thank you for your replies....
