Hi everyone, it has been brought to my attention that the Air Ambulance service (Financed entirely by charitable donations) is still having to pay V.A.T. on the fuel they buy >:( This is so clearly wrong, after all, the R.N.L.I. are exempt from V.A.T. on fuel (Also charity financed) There is currently an e-petition to get the same for air ambulances, PLEASE sign it, as there is always a very real risk WE may need it's services one day, you can sign it here (http://here)http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/29349 As I said previously, you never know when you may need it :o

Signed it - life savers - an under statement!
Hope we never need them ourselves....

Whilst not trying to disagree with the petition, and I've signed......
The reason the Lifeboat Service is VAT free is its a charity and the Lifeboat men and women are unpaid volunteers.
The Air Ambulance is a great service and funded a lot by charitable donations, but it ain't wholely charitable donations and the employees, paramedics and pilots, are paid. I'm not sure it would/could work like the lifeboat service.
