have a 1976 honda 4004 been having problems with the oil light after the bike is warmed up the oil light comes on when idling or at low revs but doesnt come on whilst being driven plenty of oil in engine also the rocket breather tube am i right inthinking that it connects underneath the airfilter

yes pipe goes there light comming on could be oil ways blocking up or your pump on its way out
-
It's not uncommon with high mileage engines when they are warm, according to the Haynes manual, if the light goes out just above tickover it's okay ??? That said, if the oil and filter are clean it's an indication that the big ends/ mains are getting worn, so if you've got fresh oil and filter, and the pump strainer is clear, you may want to prepare for re-shelling before the problem gets worse

+1 on your reply hairy

`thanks to all who replied to my oil light prob i will check on wot you said. maybe i should have said when i got the bike the exhaust wasnt original but has since been changed was wondering if needle height in carbs is part of the problem, maybe thats why the choke aint workin proper when applied either, doesnt rev high any ideas. cheers
