Hi Guys.
Just noticed today at my local supermarket they now sell this crap SP95 E10 fuel.I know its been discussed on other sites before but what do you use when they faze out the 98 fuel? Will our classics become museum pieces in the next 5 years? Here in France they are fazing it out in the next 2 years.Your comments please and what is happening with fuel in the UK.

I used the E10 fuel on a 10 day 2000 mile trip round Europe last June, albeit on my 1100 Yam, I didn't notice any difference in power, fuel economy, crispness of power delivery or cold starting problems. I was fully loaded with panniers and camping gear and did all the passes and fast back roads, as well as 550 miles in one day to Epernay in the Vosges mountains, so not hanging about.
We had the same scare stories about unleaded fuel when that came out. My old fella used it in his '61 Royal Enfield Crusader Sport from the day it came out and monitored valve clearances and has reported that all the hype was just that ....hype. I hope E10 is the same ...hype.
What its like in my Honda? dunno yet :-\

Thanks Tomb,
I have a 2005 yam xjr1300 and my local agent has posters all round his shop saying yamaha France does not recommend it.Also a moto club magazine here did a topic showing what happened to a Z1 in a small time period overheated.seized pistons and cream krackered all the rubber o rings and tubes on the carbs.I do hope you are right it being hype.

Interesting ???
My 1100 Yam should have an oil cooler but I have a Kerker fitted which is for the US market bikes which don't have oil cooler, so I can't use one. Consequently I keep an eye on the engine running temp, and didn't notice any difference at all, I expected it getting hot fully loaded with gear and howling round high altitude passes.

Hi Guys Gals.
Dint wish to scare anyone but just found something regarding what bikes you can use this type of fuel on.They only mention Honda Suzuki and Triumph.Might be of use to Tomb as like me Yamaha not mentioned. As for Honda only bikes after 1993 I believe so watch your sohc maybe?
