can anyone give me some advice, I have a couple of damaged cooling fins on the engine, any ideas on repairing them, the engine is out but I dont want to strip it if poss.
-
I used an epoxy clay to replace a chunk out of the very top fin on my 750. That was about 6 years ago and it's still there, no problems.

Finally found the thread where this was discussed (U.S. Forum) and the product I used. Hope it is of some help.

Devcon, if its still made, used to do a metallic based epoxy putty for all the different metals

Wasn't aware of this one. It appears Devcon is still available but at this site it's pricey and the quantity is a bit much. :-\

Used the steel, brass and alloy types when in the merchant navy Bob. When used correctly it will take a thread as long as you dont want extreme torque. Also used some etuff called Thistlebond that i havent seen for a while----was a woven glassfibre bandage along with a resin and hardener, didn't half get hot quick and burnt fingers!!!
-
Bryanj, looks like Thistlebond is still around also.
