Hey Bitsa, I'm in the same boat. Maybe you could share those pics. :)

;) been as a few of you been asking this the way I do them gaitors of course my way may not be the right way but it works for me
push the collars up the shrouds as far as you can with the thin part up against the yolks push your gaitor up the fork leg and with your thumb and index finger push the rubber lip that's all over the lip of the fork shroud and hold it there with one hand with the other hand (thumb and finger) feed the rubber gaitor lip over the lip on the fork shroud if they are new they will be quite supple its like a poping a tyre over a rim but easier just feed it round from the outside to the inside don't use any screwdrivers just your fingers when it on all the way round just slide the chrome collar down onto the lip of the gaitor it will feel that it ain't moved far but as long as all the gaitor is on all the way round you have cracked it. the inside is the hardest part so makes sure its on I find these eazy peezy compared to carb rubbers lol

great Steff750
but my collars won't go over the shrouds, they have been re chromed and they did them twice. perhaps i need to dremel them slightly so they do fit over the shrouds,
ps just done the carb rubbers see what you mean LOL

I don't have a problem with gaiters, it's the rubber cushion at the top of the fork ears that are confusing me.

they fit in the top of the ears between the top tree,

Hi Billy,
I had the same problem with my K4 3 years ago, fiddled for hours ( I bought genuine Honda gaiters from DS) In the end I cut each rings at the rear and fitted, they have stayed in position ever since.
The only issue is that there is a 4/5mm gap at the rear which makes me think there could be 2 sizes of rings?
Let us know how you get on
Alan

Sorry Alan I don't think there are two sizes
Did you get inpatient and take the hacksaw out I've been guilty of doing that before when replacing a lock on one of my vans

ok so i think i have done it i think
(http://i1209.photobucket.com/albums/cc393/njwill1/new/Projects/CB750K6/IMG_7138_zpsbd3c3037.jpg) (http://s1209.photobucket.com/user/njwill1/media/new/Projects/CB750K6/IMG_7138_zpsbd3c3037.jpg.html)
i had to dremel the bottom of the fork ears as they had built them up with copper and chrome

then they went up over the base OK but it was tight

Bingo
Dead easy yet strangely confusing ;)

Well done! Done a bit of research and there is only one size ring for the K0-K6
