Title: Green and red wire

I am having trouble with my wiring. most of the wires in the headlight go to obvious places/connectors. i have one wire left over which is Green with a red stripe. i has a dual female connector and i have traced back to the solinoid. it looks like it needs a ignition live feed but from where?

when i connect direct to the battery live the start button works.(without ignition)

all the live wires i have in the headlight are Black. i thought you would never have a live male, but stand corrected if shown a way forward.

Safety switch? A diode plugs into it. I may be wrong as I don't have access to my diagrams at the minute.

may be wrong.

there is no safety/Diode thing on the wiring diagram i have

Yes, that's it above the oil line. I knew there was a green/red wire involved.   :)
Does your bike have wires from the clutch?

Its for the clutch lever switch stops you starting in gear.To start you have to pull in the clutch lever or go into neutral

Hi Billy,

Check your clutch lever, it should have (for a K6) a 7/8mm machined hole level with the clutch cable to accommodate a pressure switch.
The early K's wiring had a light green/red cable only, neutral switch & neutral light circuit.
The later K's had a dark green/red cable added for the clutch switch/starter solenoid/(-)diode.
The light green/red cable circuit will be connected to the (+) side of the diode.

For the diode you can not get that wrong the plastic plug dictates which way round the diode goes.On mine because I do not like wire cable tied to the bars I bypassed the clutch switch.It was a safety feature installed by Honda when I get on any bike my instinct is always start with the clutch pulled in wether electric or kick as with the 750 you can kick it with the clutch in.Later they also included the side stand switch but that was on new models for new bikers.
Does that make sense to you?

Found the little blighter, it was in the draw with the rear light wires.
Got it all connected now and working fine. thanks for the help Guys
