People love 'em though James :(. If it's the bike you owned in your youth then you are bound to have an affection for it. Look at the CD175A sloper, I never dreamed in a million years, when I owned one ,that it would command such a high price today and be held in such affectionate terms by PO's. After all it was basically a get to work bike to replace Bantams. The 400N Superdream was actually marginally faster than the 400/4 it replaced.

Yep, people do love them for some strange reason. Though i love my CD250u ;D
I have a customer that bought a CB250N for a stupid amount of money. It had a nice NOS tank and panels but, the frame had had a very hard rear end knock and the worst case of repair i have ever seen. One carb was from a CB250 and the other from a 400. Ended up getting another set as it would not run right. Got it fired up and the right hand cylinder plug kept going down due to a ton of oil coming down the valve guide.
Who ever restored this CB250N needs shooting.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that likes the 250u people look at me as if I'm mad.
If I find it I would be quit tempted to buy it back.

Mick, what is the plate? I may have it ;D

Just been trying to remember the reg.
I know it started with a K and ended FXU

The 400 was a great bike compared with the 250, however it still got left standing by the 250 2 strokes, 4k is a little rich for one but then going by the stupid money of the cb750's its quite tame, all the hondas are going up even the plastic maggotts lol

It doesn't end in FXU that's my Triumph I think.
I have no idea how you all remember your reg if my bike goes missing I would be screwed.

I always remember the reg of every bike i have had and sold, because the DVLA are not to be trusted and lose the V5. So copy every V5 before i send it off. Have a few copy's now ;D

a warning note about the DVLA,if you need to update,or replace your licence ,take a copy first,
the DVLA a prone to leaving groups off the replacement,I had hell of a job telling them I was entitled to ride all bikes,
it was only because my employer had a photocopy ,that I got corrected,
other wise they wanted me to take more tests ,

Oh dear, I just cleared alomst all the 250n stuff out of my shed, appart from wheels I was going to use for a horsedrawn cart. - new hint, ask me what wheel I have set aside for a horse drawn conveyance. 20 years ago my dad cut up 2 raleigh chopper pushbikes to build a cart for my shetland pony, they are now worth a mint. They were also pretty hopless bikes. So mbx 50? Or whatever it was. I have a set of wheels for that set aside for a cart too.

Oh, it's a dealer, say no more.
Awful colour for that bike. Silver or (better) blue.

I thought all the superdreams were awful colours, we were spoilt in the early-mid 70s with all the great candy/flake colours from Honda, even down to tiddlers like my CB175K6! ;D

....I often think how strange it is that the colours were so popular / accepted. If you hadn't seen the bike before, and had to order a colour.... can't see many biker blokes asking for a 'candy gold' (it sparkles sir... would look great on you), or 'Purple popsical', 'Parakeet Yellow'..to name a few of the 'flamboyant' options. Gawd, wasn't there a 750 kettle in gaudy pink?
But the thing is, they (mostly) looked just darned right; we have a lot to thank the Japs for in this department...
And as pointed out, the SuperDreams were badly let down in this respect..

CBX alright though - perseus silver; candy glory red :P

One of my 500/4 projects is metalflake brown. On the ebay pictures it looked awful dog doo brown. When I actually got the thing to be fair it does look nice, but it is still brown.

Anyone ever noticed that a lot of those invalid scooters are painted in what looks like Candy Ruby Red ... or very close to it
-
So is my chicken chaser, very sparkly red!
