The front foot peg boots are pretty much warn out and I would like to replace them with slimmer profile rubbers which are are either compatible with the 500 k front footrests or something from another model which will still fit the step bars but have a less agricultural look ( sorry to offend the purists ). I do love the bike but the pegs are something else and resemble the pegs off a 50's Triumph.

Have seen a pair on a cafe racer that had the rubbers removed and the metal chromed but, not much in rubber.

This may shock you. I am 1,96 m tall and have removed the footpeg rubbers to gain a somewhat better riding position. In all these years not one time a foot has slipped of the peg and I have never felt uncomfortable about it.

You could always get a bit of that ally chequerplate (popular on Landrover wing tops) and cut it ti the shape you want and rivet/bolt it to the top of the footrest bar:))

Kick start rubbers have a slimmer profile
Perhaps you could find one from something to bully on ?

All are good suggestions. I will see how it looks on the bike without the boots and take it from there. Cheers all.

That may work Woodside. Does anyone know if the pegs are solid or just heavy tubed?

They are like flattened tube, a sort of long oval
