Title: CB 500 Front brake caliper and swing arm
Post by: Spanner1972 on June 08, 2015, 10:29:57 AM
Im missing one of these for my project, there are calipers and the mounting arms on Ebay, works out pretty expensive. Iv looked to see if there is a more modern caliper that fits directly to the fork mounts but cant find one. Do they exsist? if so can someone point me in the right direction. Thanks.

I actually messaged the seller and he said it wouldn't work on a 500. Thanks for pointing out it will. Nice one. Bidding war begins.

The pivot arm is 45115-323-010 and the body A is 45101-323-013 for the 400 and 500 but, don't know why the whole unit as a different number. Any part number with 323 in the middle is a 500 part  ;)

For some time front brake calipers and swing arms have commanded a bit of a premium price, it is just a case of either dig deep and pay or keep lurking on ebay as every so often a cheap one crops up, though I have resorted to buying a whole bike before now as it wasn't much more than a caliper, then I found the bike was a 500k0 and a bit rare.

The swinging brackets are easy to find (I have a spare if you need it) but the calipers are often in poor condition with bad threads and seized bleed nipples, I just replaced mine with a reproduction item from Dave Silvers along with a new master cyl so all parts are new.
