Hello all,
Came to the board from the US site, but as I'm based in UK thought I would join in the fun here too.
I have (very) recently bought this Seeley Honda 750 from It's 1st owner. He bought it from the Seeley stand at the 1978 Motorcycle Mechanics & Sporting Show so It is near as dammit 100% original AFAIK.
The intention will be to re-commission it rather than a nut&bolt restoration, I want to keep it as original as possible.

It does need a bit of TLC (and plenty of Solvol and polish ;D) I will get it running before working out what exactly needs doing.
Cheers Geoff

Very nice, love them Seeley's. It would be sacrilege to restore a bike that good, you only ever get one go at originality.

Now that is one beautiful bike
Cheers

That is my intent, Roy. I would rather have all the minor cosmetic defects as they are. Mechanically I will do what ever needs to be done engine, braking, wheel bearing wise etc.
Thanks for all the positive comments, I am really made up at having this in my workshop ;D ;D 8)
Cheers Geoff

I have been searching for some time for someone to make some exhausts for my chop and long story short ended up on a farm fairly close to me today, there I was greeted by two brothers who were very into their 750/4's and a lot of other bikes, in one barn alone I counted 16 different bikes. Lo an behold apart from an immaculate but not quite stock KO sandcast, there in the corner stood according to them the FIRST production Seely off the conveyor belt. They had loads of pictures on the wall so had no reason to doubt their claim. As this was the first time I had met them I didn't have the cheek to ask to take any pictures so you will have to take my word on this. Couldn't believe my eyes what I saw. They were great guys and very very knowledgeable about bikes. It takes a lot to impress me and by golly these guys IMPRESSED me. My exhausts are in very safe hands. ;D

Hello drkush ,
If I deciphered the engine No. correctly it is a 1977F1 lump so I would assume the carbs are also F1.

(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07/19/eca66d3ff0ab55b7070d6da6a48908be.jpg) they look like the ones on my bike, not like the later ones with the acellerator pumps??

Yes, those look very like the carbs fitted to my engine.

Thought so, the later 70's had acellorator pumps and in my opinion the old style work better. They have larger slide and jets if I remember right
