Good morning,
I guess I need to replace the oil pressure switch on my cb750 k2.
Unless anyone tells me a very good way to test it before condemning it.
What do you think about this one.
Is it a good replacement?
Thanks

i would go for a genuine honda switch, but its your call ;)

Hi, following up on my 'pressure gauge tripping after 15min', i am also considering gauge replacement.
One question, do you need to empty the oil from the engine before dismantling the gauge?
Thanks

Have you got a proper pressure gauge fitted or are you talking about the oil light switch, please tell me as i am confused

no you do not need too drop the oil for either the switch or the pressure gauge .
;) jezz this is like pulling teeth lol
get on wiv it

Sorry for the confusion, meant switch not gauge... right now running as up to 93c instead of 80c spec, so definitely hot but dont know what is the pressure. Plan is to follow Steff rec to change the switch. If still red light, than i suspect the pressure gauge can help but i would first need to change oil spec for more visco like 15w40. Ishouldnt run on red light with a new switch.
Thanks

I change my damaged oil presure switch with one from a Honda CBR929..it is the same thing..also i think it will work a cbr954 oil switch!

Mihai, when you say damaged did you get the light coming up after oil heating up or was is some other symptoms. I have checked ebay and found genuine honda switch but it says superseeding the #300.... original
The actual ref starting with 300 are actually rather expensive:(
Which model did you choose?
Thanks

My oil switch was loosing oil...a lot!!!
I found some oil near my bike and when i took of the sprocket cover it drained about 2-300ml of oil!!!
The porblem was that the sealing from the top was damaged and all the oil was comming out from there.
I don`t know the model but in the service there was a Honda CBR929 with the engine off and we tried the oil switch from the CBR and it was perfect!!!
I still got the CBR oil switch on my CB550k.
It s like this one:

So i ended up buying an aftermarket switch (booh) but from DSS (yeah). The guy said he is selling loads of these at 21gbp instead of 34 gbp.
The thing is that i also have a neutral switch jammed (not the bulb) and to be fair the engine do overheat so not sure if the new switch will suffice.
Will let you know once i have figured out what tool can get access to this damned constrained switch.
Cheers
