Hi has anyone used 2 pack paint on there engine .I was going to get the barrels powder coated .but the guy at shop says 2 pack paint can be used.and will give better gloss finish??.than powder coat .

2 pack is no good on a engine. You need a VHT paint, look up US Automotive, in Bedford, they do a full range of VHT engine paint (even shocking pink) ;D ;D ;D

How many cans of prep/paint for that Trig?
-
Cheers that looks well .

Did you use the primer and clear coat on that trig
-
The engine was done with 2 cans. No, primer needed, super clean surface ( any oil in the alloy will lift the paint) Bake in the oven for an hour after clean, the heat will bleed any oil out of the alloy. Clean it down with thinners/carb cleaner. No clear coat needed, and apply thin coats every half an hour, leave for 24 hours to dry and pop it in the oven to cure the paint. Once paint is cured it becomes fuel/chemical resistant ;)

Nice finish on that Yamaha Trig. How did it stand up to everyday use?
Used the same paint on my F2 and everytime it gets a heat cycle a bit chips off the end of the fins (not a problem on the yam I know). Touched them back in with smooth Hammerite and it seems to be lasting. Cant see the touch ups either.

It is in a drag bike that runs NOS, so the engine gets very hot 8)
