I could certainly find space on the server and get a domain name to store them under. I'd need access to the files though (you can't just copy the content via a browser. Does anyone know these people?
Steve
-
A closer look indicates that they are all pdf downloads, so it would be a simple task to download them all, design a homepage and put up our own archive.
Thoughts?
-
Yep it loads up now , must have just been a glitch this morning, anyway what a usefull lot of info, well done ash

This stuff is like gold dust, thankyou.
Can anyone point me at an online copy of the user's manual for a CB750 K1? I know where stuff is and how to work it, but would still like to know what Honda wanted me to do, and how often.

Don't know if anyone else is having problems but I can't access any of the documents in Ash's Dropbox at the moment.
I just get the roundy-roundy 'loading' symbol but no document.
Tried last night and again this morning, various docs on two computers, but no joy right now.

One of the K2 links is a honda4fun link, not dropbox - that one is OK for me.
Can anyone else open one of the dropbox docs. say the 350F/400F Shop Manual?
I have no problems with James's Monkey Bike pics, just Ash's docs, which I have never had a problem with before. Thanks.

Great ... check out the Service Bulletins...interesting reading. Like valves sticking pre-prepping and Honda recommending a fix with 'Marvel Mystery Oil'
Guess these have done the rounds but originated with my Hero Bryan Jones...grovel :-[
yes, read those, also the exhaust replacement warranty,
what was that web site ??
www.crotchrocket.com
I found them hidden on the SOHC4 site ... The only reason I copied them to Dropbox is that due to copywrite the 750 ones were detleted.
-
Sorted.
Maybe Dropbox has been updated, documents used to load automatically whereas I now have to select the Download button.
Guess I just can't cope with the technology!
Thanks again to Ash and others for providing all this wonderful and useful information.

Hello All,
I have been able to download most of the .pdf files from the link supplied for the archive of greenbushacres site kindly supplied by AshimotoK0, except for the Honda Carburetion Manual and the CB750 Service Bulletin #39 (Which would not respond to selection).
I was however able to download the Honda Carburetion Manual via the later link also supplied by AshimotoK0 but the one supplied that enabled the download of all the files in .zip format did not include the CB750 Service Bulletin #39. This is the only one that I am missing. Has anyone been able to acquire a copy?
If anyone needs any of the above files, let me know via PM and I will see about getting a copy to you. Or if it would be preferable for me to supply them to a central location, again let me know via a PM.
Many thanks AshimotoK0 for all your efforts to ensure the information is not lost to those of us who need it.
All the Best,
Rob54.

Is the 550 parts book the F version or the K3 version.
I have a genuine K3 parts book if you need that scanning.
F
Thinks .... Is this a contender for the shortest reply to a post? :)
I would say Yes Please to the scanning. I'm sure the info would be of use to someone; Steve could put it his Aladdin's Cave!

Anyone got a CB250G5 / CB360 part book scan please?
-
Ash, I have a hard copy Parts List for the G5.
I also have a CB250 G5 albeit in far more pieces than a bike really should be.
After your comments on G5 ownership (buying one = losing the plot) I don't know if I should help!
But as I lost the plot long ago (not actually sure if I ever found it in the first place ....) and as you provide such excellent help as the font of all knowledge for manuals, technical articles and bits of magazine from umpteen years ago I will try and get it scanned. I'll let you know ....

Sorry Chris :-[ :-[ :-[ ..it was tongue in cheek comment. I actually think they are quite a pretty bike and probably much maligned because people didn't change the oil at the correct intevals. Included in a load of parts I am getting are the remains of a 250 G5...so you never know I might get smitten !
-
No problems Ash, I am used to tongue in cheek comments on here!
PM sent re scanned copy of document.

Thats a good CB750 test which I haven't read before, unless I read it 'back in the day'. He doesn't sugar coat the reaction to a high speed bump when cornering, and things that worry me now such as a gearbox whine, the abrupt clutch, and failure to run smoothly on all four easily when starting from cold, came as standard on a new CB750 prepared for the press. I was a bit alarmed when mine needed a pint of oil after 600 miles, but again, they did that from new, apparently. Also my mpg is pretty much bang on with the test results.
It fills me with horror that I thought 'chopperised' bikes with apehangers, bannana seats and naff 'cooling rings' on the exhausts were ever cool, especialy when done to something as fine as a Mettise framed Triumph. That said in those days I always thought that Sportsters (with the 'peanut' tank) had 'the look', and I've owned one for the past 12 years.
At least they didn't rake or gooseneck the frame, beyond the scope of an MM article I guess. I remember one month they told us how to get an extra 6th gear out of a Yamaha RD250 (I think) simply by removing a stopper pin from the gearbox. A couple of issues later they were telling us for God's sake put it back in urgently, after riders found out the reason for its last minute inclusion - it was possible to change 'up' from 6th to 1st, with disasterous consequences.
Think of the potential legal liability if you did that these days!

In the process of scanning the CB550F2 and CB550K3 Parts Books that Ken (Oddjob) kindly loaned me to copy. Should get them done this week but I am having to scan each page indivually due to the type of binding on the later manuals.

If you need to destroy them in order to get a good copy Ash then do that. I'll still have access to them via the dropbox so no real harm done. I've seen scans done of later parts books and due to the page bending needed you get parts of the page slightly out of focus as a result of how it sits on the scanner. The books were starting to come apart anyway so it's not like they were pristine.
Thanks Ken, I may do that then with your blessing but I will re-bind them. As you say some pages are coming out a bit distorted ... Plus it's a breeze to do on auto-feed. A few people (not on here) say why bother when they are on CMSNL's website but they are talking b*ll*cks as CMS's are very much altered to suit the parts that they actual have in stock and lots of info/part numbers are missing.

Good scan Ash, crystal clear.
No worries .. I found that they were stapled so I removed the staples and trimmed a few mm off. Scanning was then a breeze on double-side scan autofeed. I ordered a heavy duty stapler off eBay to re-staple them and lots of other docs so your originals should come back as good as received. Many thanks Ken ..those are pretty rare manuals and I just hate it when people try to sell stuff like that for a Queens (or is it Queenies ;D ;D) ransom.
Bryan has kindly loaned me a tiny Japanese 500K0 one with rare parts listed ..if you are reading this Bryan ..I am on with it but I think I am going to have to scan pages individually.

Hi Ash; did you get my parts history guide? And is it any use to you?
Regards,
Nigel.
Hi Nigel..yes ..sorry I didn't get back to you. I'm a bit confused by it though I don't know the relevance of the numbers in it in 'Honda Code' and 'Description' column are. Are the internal codes used by Honda dealers..e.g 33741-300-671 Front reflector has the HONDA CODE : 019976 0 and description: 0 192807 ? I guess you will know or if not perhaps Oddjob or Trigger will know.

I think we are talking about two different things here.
The link below (above) will download from Ash’s Dropbox.
The link on the Aladdin’s Cave website is broken as the file cannot be found.
I will update Aladdin’s Cave to download from Dropbox. Than, as long as Ash doesn’t change anything on there (and presumably keeps paying for storage), it will work fine.
Do you get a download count Ash?
It would be interesting to know.
Steve.

I already changed it Steve in the main post. No idea how many downloads. I use it all the time myself though ... handy if you are away on holiday and need to look up a part etc. (sad eh :-[ ). I suppose most sites would request a log in to access the files (same as you can't view pics on this site unless you are logged in). No worries to me though if it stays as it is.

A seller I use in Holland often bungs in old magazines in the package when I buy parts off him. No idea why as most are in Dutch, anyway this time I was ordering a part off a CB650 and he's included a genuine Honda workshop manual for the CB650/650C. Don't get excited, it just seems to be all about the carbs and how to check and dissemble them, plus some wiring diagrams. Do you want it Ash? might as well add it to the cave of knowledge. Cost me nought so I don't might donating it for the greater good.
Yes please, I can scan it and put on here. I still have to scan the CB750K7 parts book I got recently and also my C110 manuals. One Honda UK Parts Book has parts prices.
