Hi,
I want to remove the airbox on my F1 and replace with pod filters. In all honesty my main reason for doing this is for looks although the bike is running a little rich so it will be interesting to see if the filters lean it out. If the carbs subsequently need rejetting then I'll do that, but what are the best filters? I'm seeing K&N 40mm filters listed for the F1. Are any others recommended?
Many thanks

If your going to buy pod filters buy the better ones ie K&N's S&B's etc , I had them on my F1 with 125 main jets and a nice homemade 4 into 1 and had no issues ;) cheers Mick.
-
Thanks Mick, appreciate the first hand experience.
-
Mick - can I ask, when you removed the airbox, did you add a fuel catch can for the breather pipe to the airbox?
-
I've got some k&n pod filters brand new got them for my bike from carpys web site in USA but he sent me the wrong ones my bike is f2 so I need 44 mm .but he's dragging is feet replacing them .like ignoring my emails if you decide to buy some I can sell you these for what I played for them which was 110 with import tax on them .Cheers Mike

I am in occasional email contact with Steve Carpenter. He's actually a member here from years ago. If you don't get any joy, let me know.

Very cool thanks. I fitted the K&N pods this weekend and removed the baffle from my new exhaust. Its not going any faster yet, but sounds great!
Presumably your breather came from the states? E.g. CycleX?
-
I used one of these , but you may find something cheaper or better suited for your bike ?

Cheers Mick. Can I ask what that is coming out of the engine case below the cylinders? T the right of the kick start? Is that an oil pressure gauge?
-
I can answer that one, Yes its the oil pressure gauge , I have also fitted one.
A good one with the connector will cost around 60 Quid
-
Here's a better photo of the breather and oil pressure gauge ;) cheers Mick.

Mick
I saw the ebay link for the oil breather you put on previously,
did you send for it from that add on ebay, hence the USA ?
if so what was the total cost, if you don't mind me being nosey.. :)
Cheers

The ebay breather looks like it comes from Germany - £26 with postage here.
Now that oil pressure guage - I really need one of those! (I think). Can you point me in the right direction?
