Looking at our options and it would seem that F1 forks are limited in availability .We presently have F2 forks fitted but my question is in compatibility of various models.
I know the F1 fork legs are longer than the K6, but could I fit the f2 chromed fork legs into K6 or K7 bottom units.
or are they similar but not compatible.?
Any options for consideration the f2 fork legs has no fittings on the bottom units for the F1 mudguards
We can keep what we have for present but just so I know what to watch out for when I find them for sale

You will find that K6 forks are 341 and K7 are 393, so are different.
I would just keep my eye out for a set of F1's, even if they are pitted and get them re-chromed ;)

Hi Trigger
I was hoping to use the chromed legs from the F2 forks and fit them into F1/K6/K7 Bottom alloy legs (if I can find any)
If its just the length of the chromed tubes thats different it shouldn't be a problem using a F1/K6/K7 bottom unless they just ain't compatable.
I don't want to be spending daft money and ending up with a mismatch that just won't fit - like you say ideally just find a bog standard set of F1 forks - problem would be solved

I could be wrong but i thought the F2 had different seal sizes

Think I have some K7 bottoms .. well got the whole legs but stanchions are deffo sha**ed

Hi Ash - could this be a resolve to my fork issue
would my F2 stanchions drop into the K7 bottoms?
If so let me know what you want for the bottoms and I don't think your too far from me to collect
Cheers

Stanchions & Springs same part no. CB750K7 and F2. STANCHION: 51410393003 , SPRING 51401393000
Dug them (literally) out of the shed & look a bit crusty. Will take 'em to work and bead blast the alloy sliders. Stanchions are pitted but would definitely rechrome & not bent.
I am in Willerby East Yorks just outside of Hull just off the A164 between Hull & Beverley.

Forks blasted OK but noticed on one the bottom studs were sheared off plus a bit of the caliper adjuster screw was rock solid seized into the alloy. MIG welded a nut to the studs and they came out with a bit of gentle persuasion. Also welded up a rear shock compressor tool at the same time.

No worries ... I didn't want you to come and pick up and find them fooked 'cos studs were stuck solid and I was welding things anyway. I would leave the studs in the other one well alone !!
