Probably a genuine Honda kill switch, the production of many older model genuine spare parts which are still in demand are farmed out to engineering companies in China and Thailand.

My recently purchased F1 front mudguard and alternator cover were genuine Honda parts made in Thailand.

Certainly not as user friendly as the CB750, but back in the day Tridents were more than a match for them on race tracks.

Plus that amazing note of a Trident on full song with ray gun exhaust silencers was always a sound to savour.

Thanks for posting this.

Nice to see a CB750 was also good enough for Lord Litchfield!

Good luck with the gear selector problem.

I've just had a close look at the photo, if that's silicone sealer visible please don't use it on your Honda engine because it's liable to block the oil feed passages to the camshaft and cause it to seize in the cylinder head, can also choke up the oil pump strainer gauze with predictable results.

Try to clean all traces of the stuff away when you split the engine, reassemble with new gaskets, spotlessly clean and dry gasket joint faces and you'll have a nice safe oil tight engine.

As Bryan says get Ikons if you can.

I fitted proprietary shockers from DS which are very similar to TEC ones with no manufacturers name stamped on them, they leaked after about 2 years, so a waste of money.

See photos here:-

Then I replaced them with Ikons which transformed the ride, plus they're fully adjustable for spring tension and damping.
That was over 7 years ago and 18,000 miles of mostly two up touring.

The other thing is they are fully serviceable, with all replacement parts available.

Well done and a useful explanation of your technique for others attempting similar work.

Nice photo, thanks for posting it.

I'd forgotten all about the 1970s air horn era!
