That's exactly what I was thinking of doing. I've checked the oil. There is some in it but it's off the end if the dipstick. Could well have something to do with the original issue.

I just bought this 2010 non-runner. It's not a classic but it is SOHC . Has some crash damage and lots if corrosion. It's been left outside for at 3 years. Apparently it was making a ting ting ting noise for about a month before it conked out and wouldn't start again 3 years ago. Seems seized now. Anyone on here have any experience with these?

As long as your engine breather is not blocked, they shouldn't be under pressure and so, they should be fine!

I usually find soaking it in petrol before scraping it off helps a lot. Just give it a rub with a rag soaked on petrol first.

I have 3 bikes and had a good list of jobs to do in the garage over the Winter. The moment I'd finished them I started suffering anxiety. I'm not retired either, but have been working from home most the time since April. There's a lot to be said for bikes and mental health .

I never had any cam trouble with my 2 VF500s or my VF1000FE. I think it was only the 750s which were effected.
