I was charged £87.84 (inc VAT) for 6.1 Litres of oil when I had my Volvo Serviced, on top of that I was charged a disposal levy for the waste oil.
I have a bottle of Top up oil in Volvo packaging that states its Castrol Edge Pro 0W-20 meets specification VCC-RBSO-2AE.
It must be a good little earner for Castrol who sell Castrol Edge Pro 0W-20 with a variety of slightly different specifications for Volvo, Ford, Jaguar Land Rover, Vauxhall, each presumably with a specific additive for hybrid, turbo variants etc.
Is it likely at the Castrol Refinery make so many variations of Edge Pro 0W-20 oil?
Is it badge (ok bottle) engineering to fleece customers, the cynic in me thinks it's probably all the same oil until it's in the bottling plant, an appropriate label is then affixed at the end of the line?
There's a big mark up on that Ted. I serviced my Volvo myself with the same oil from Halfords and it was half the price! Sent from my 24040RN64Y using Tapatalk

Hi Florence, You will get several different recommendations but mine is a VFR 750 or 800. Bargains at the moment, comfortable and very capable.

That's exactly what I was thinking of doing. I've checked the oil. There is some in it but it's off the end if the dipstick. Could well have something to do with the original issue.

I just bought this 2010 non-runner. It's not a classic but it is SOHC  . Has some crash damage and lots if corrosion. It's been left outside for at 3 years. Apparently it was making a ting ting ting noise for about a month before it conked out and wouldn't start again 3 years ago. Seems seized now. Anyone on here have any experience with these? As long as your engine breather is not blocked, they shouldn't be under pressure and so, they should be fine!

I usually find soaking it in petrol before scraping it off helps a lot. Just give it a rub with a rag soaked on petrol first.

I have 3 bikes and had a good list of jobs to do in the garage over the Winter. The moment I'd finished them I started suffering anxiety.
