For example...
Every barn find bike of a certain age has a yellow and black plate..if you want to look original...
No bike after 71ish would have ablack silver plate why would you spend thousands of pounds on a restoration and then put the wrong period number plate on it

Your bike should be yellow and black plates
No argument
If you want it original that's how it is.
No body in the 70's wanted black plates it just aged the bikes .
It's just a new modern trendy thing

Lighting switch gear. LpH
Round pins on loom connections
Seat catch
And seat cover
No puck on mudguard

Probaly abit more but im having my tea

I admit its steep but you can always come down.
If someone on here wants it ill definitely sharpen my pencil .

I'll probably put it on ebay at some point soon but I prefer the car and classic site it always seems easier..

I suppose that does make sense
As an electrician for 30 years I was always told when finding a blown fuse to just replace .if it blows again start fault finding ..and when pretty sure you had found said fault try again ......thats 2 fuses gone.
3rd one is possibly to replace the one you dropped and couldn't find ...

Actually I did also have this with a bike that I only had the 389 cert that was pre nova.
I had to send that of and get it stamped pre nova then get it put on the nova system .
I suppose you could just go down the dating route and registering process but unsure if vin could flag up on system if it was ever on it....if it was that long ago I very much doubt it would?

No nova is a pain in the arse
I had a similar issue with a cl72 that was imported in the 80's registered and used.
Then it was broken partially for spares
One of those spares the rear mudguard and number plate bracket complete with number plate?
I did however have a written confirmation from previous owner of this
I had to apply for a nova .
Bloody long process and vjmc ray davies(?) Was a great help
If it was pre nova it should have a 389 cert or at least an import vat paid notice ...
Whatever happens keep a good copy of the receipt of where it was purchased and how much.

On that note
Did early 500's have a different air box lid.
I know they generally they have a tiny slot for a rubber fuse holder molded in that takes 3 fuses .?
But why 3 fuses ? When the electrical system only had the one in use ...

So have the lids always had a space for the 3 spares
