I think a lot of "old" chemicals for home use have been altered due to health and safety concerns over the past few years, coupled with production costs, it leads to less effective products, creosote is a good example, hard to get the real stuff now.

Drain the carbs for long term storage, whether E5 or E10, ethanol can rot some metals over time.

« on: September 29, 2024, 10:06:37 AM »
The 250cc superdream was a current learner machine when I was a Star rider instructor, and a few ladies had problems with the seats being too high and they had to tip them to put a foot down, and they were not always successful, and the bike would tip over completely. Alot ended up with near side minor damage.

Stainless pan-head allen screws don't look too bad, and they tend not to chew up.

It Has a mounting bracket that would need "doctoring" as it was  originally altered for clip ons, it mounts on the horn area frame web and the front downtube, probably not originally for a 400/4, its 40 yrs since I used it, a long time to remember!!
