I think the reason the exhausts are so blue is, that they are pattern items.
They certainly are not the pipes that was on the bike in the original

I never understood Honda's thinking with the cable disc.
All that machining to produce caliper mechanism.
What was wrong with the simple hydraulic system they used
On everything else. Give me the twin leader on the Cb175 any day.
In fact the Cb200 was a very inferior replacement to the Cb175.

Cheers Dave I honestly did not think such a thing existed.

Quick update.
I have found the rarest of rare thing!
Whilst browsing ebay. I stumbled upon. A concave Cibie H4 headlight unit. Which was listed as Cb175 complete with chrome rim. So I took a chance on it. And it is indeed a perfect fit. The rim is stamped "Cibie"
So they must have produced the complete unit as a whole.
I am very pleased. To say the least.
Moral is. Never give up.

Hello Ian.
Thank you for your experience. I was working along similar lines.
One of my many regrets is not learning how to use a Lathe & milling machine. I presume you had to turn in id to fit over the domed shaft end. With the od sufficient to drive the clip into its seat. I ordered what was listed as the correct part. But the clip does appear to be a tad small.
Regards
Sean.

Hello.
Am I correct in thinking. Replacing the oem spring clip on the top of the kickstart. Is an impossible task?.
Or has anyone here any tips or advice they could offer. As I am fresh out of ideas.

Such generosity. Especially from a Yorkshireman.
Must be applauded. 😜

The Ram air cowling made the 380/550 a pig to ride in the rain.
As the sparks would rather dance over the cowl rather than go fown the plug. A gimmick but looked pretty trick.

Hello Ash.
Yes It is the one from Steve's spares. But as previously stated.
It is too long & too large a diameter. Yes the length could be cut down.
But the main body of the baffle is too big fit into the silencer. That's before we get to the end collar where the fixing screw is. That is even larger diameter.
Why after 30 years of ownership the baffle should fall out, us beyond me. But I'm really pee,d about it. It's loss has spoilt a lovely little tidy bike.
I am touched by your kind offer of a replacement. And the present availability situation appears to leave me no alternative but to accept.
Please let me know your price.
And if I can find a replacement. I will of course forward it on to you.
Sean.

I don't think there would be anything left of the collar if turned down
By 2mm.

Just a quick update.
I bought the baffle off ebay. Nut unfortunately it will not fit.
As it is 30mm too long & 25mm wide rather than the 23mm of the original. The search continues.

Hello Ash.
I rather thought you would come up with something.
And indeed you have.
I thought as Bryan suggested. I w.ould have to get one made.
I never thought they could be used on other models. I dont really understand why Honda fitted removable baffles in a 4 stroke exhaust in the first place.
Anyway. Armed with the info you have given me. I searched ebay.
There appears to be loads of baffles that should fit. Certainly cheap enough to take a gamble on.
I must say, my heart sank when I noticed the baffle missing.
Thankfully not such a disaster after all.
Thank you to Ash & Bryan.

SOHC Singles & Twins / 175a sloper baffle?
« on: March 30, 2024, 03:10:10 PM »
Hello fellow members.
I have just been out for a run on my Sloper. First time it's been out in a couple of years. Great little bike.
But unfortunately. I have lost a Baffle from the oem exhausts.
I don't suppose there are any fellow members, who may have a spare baffle they would be willing to sell. Would there?
Yours living in hope.
Sean.
