I have all of my bikes with Peter Best Insurance. The 4 classic bikes are on 1 policy around £177.00, my modern Z900rs is on a separate policy at £113.00. I find their service great and would recommend them.

There is a YouTube channel by "The Amateur Bike Builder" who is amongst other projects restoring a Z650, he used a Sky Lift to work on the bike and it fell off. I have a Super Bike stand which I use one on my modern bikes, you buy adapters specifically designed for each bike which fit inside of the swinging arm bolt. I used to have a Hayabusa which it made adjusting and oiling the chain a doddle. I did try using it on my Z650, you attach it to the swinging arm also (you need to provide the size of the each end of the bolt and they sell cups to fit). I did not feel that it was secure enough so haven't done anything but test it.

I have had a couple of Z650's and have got another which I just need to register with the DVLA (American Import). They really are a great bike, I would have no hesitation in recommending one. Tin hat on for the abuse in it not being a Honda.

They were FIAMM electromechanical horns, I believe. Had some on an old bike, they also made air horns.

I bought a set from CMS just as the pandemic struck in 2020 and they have sat in the garage since arrival, reading through this thread has worried me as although I looked at them I have not tried to fit them yet. They appeared to look alright individually, but until I fit them I won't know if they are alright. I also purchased a set of brackets from Andy Cepok in Germany, could this be fun in trying to fit them.

Has anyone else been to the NEC to visit Motorcycle Live this year. I went yesterday, and was disappointed with the show. It is the first time I have been since 2019, couldn't go last year as it clashed with my 60th birthday. There were a number of manufactures missing, Moto Guzzi, & Aprillia being 2 of the big brands absent, but it was the absence of most of the small aftermarket suppliers who used to attend but now cannot afford to. For me the highlights of the show were: The Jim Goose replica on the BSH stand, the Royal Enfield and AJS stands and the Kawasaki H2 supercharged engine in a display case. Apologies that I didn't take any pictures to post with the review Any other thoughts?

Hi Ted I am north of Leicester if you want to come over to sit on a 500, unfortunately it is not quite road ready so I cannot bring it over to you.

Apologies, to clarify my earlier post, I tend to use the corrosion block grease on bolts ETC, preferring marine grade grease on pivot shafts and wheel spindles and copper slip on anything that could get hot, although it does say in their data sheet that it can be used at high temperatures, I haven't tried it.

I have found Corrosion Block grease to work really well on most areas, although I revert to copper slip where high temperatures are present. Here is a link to the makers web site they also produce ACF 50. http://www.acf-50.co.uk/corrosion_block.htm

I think you should also check the loom over as it is probably corrosion or old wiring that has caused resistance within the cables and generated heat at the weakest point, causing the fuse holder to melt.

Hi Ted, where did you get your plugs from? I had an intermittent fault on my KH 250 which I finally traced down to a sparkplug breaking down, my fault as I bought them off eBay, as soon as I replaced the plug normal service was restored. Although I do appreciate that as it is with 2 cylinders it is unlikely but worth a check.
