Maybe mine aren't standard length then, would 325mm and forks through the yoke 25mm give me 'quirky' handling?

I was referring to the 25mm….

I was really referring to dropped yokes…🤔

I’m absolutely no expert on steering geometry, but I always favour the ‘standard’ set up as intended by the manufacturer. I can see that raising the rear and dropping the front might sharpen things up a bit, but whether this is detectable in practice, practically beneficial or wise, I’ll leave to others to comment.

Yes, both Noel and his son, Robbie. Robbie lives in New Zealand and runs a paragliding manufacturing company. I believe Rob was both Hang gliding and paragliding world champ and has also raced motorcycles on the IOM in the Manx GP. Obviously I knew Noel some 40 years ago and not that well. I recall that Noel was one of the forerunners in the Yorkshire hang glider community.

I was taught by a guy called Keith Cockcroft (RIP) on Baildon Moor.

Interesting read. I was with Colin Rider when he broke the British hang gliding altitude record in 1987 (possibly 1988). He rode wave lift up to around 13,500ft above Wether Fell near Haws, Yorkshire. I bottled it at around 6,600 feet and landed back at launch. The hardest thing was getting down as the lift was really strong and I had to side slip what seemed to be forever. I bet that record still stands today.

Nicely done Dom. The whole package is looking really nice and neat. Just one question: should the exhaust bracket be on the inside of the foot rest hanger? I’ve been puzzling over this on mine.

I’m disguising my US (made in Japan) CB550 F2 as a US specification model with flat bars and without the UK hidden frame corrosion 😉😁

Seeking a US spec right hand switchgear…the one with start/stop only. I’ve often lauded the benefits of USA spec bikes bought from the right area of the states due to the lack of corrosion. In this instance the internals appear to have de plasticised!!

I could source a replica from DS, but I’d prefer to match the patina of the original finish.

Please let me know if you can help.

Are you sure the valve clearances are correct on that cylinder eg not too tight?

Done the gross a few times, but the best was when 4 cyclists riding Bromptons and dressed as beefeaters arrived at the motorcyclist ‘view point’. All credit to them. The SKY cycling team was present at the time and they treated them very well. It was really funny seeing a Beefeater on the massage table😅😅
