Yes, the pattern ignition switches are just fine. Other potential failure points are the RH switchgear starter button, which can turn to goo and disintegrate.

Hi, Gareth.
Which model year? I can only advise on my experience with a 1977 F2, which I sourced from America in complete low mileage condition, minus indicators and seat. Indicator head lamp ears were the biggest headache as they are becoming very rare indeed, along with original seat bases. 3

This may sound incredibly stupid, but is it possible to install the clutch system progressively to try and isolate the problem? Eg, lever; lever plus cable; lever plus cable plus scroll mechanism…..and so on and so forth.

I had the same issue on my 1977 F2. I fitted standard ball races in the end.

A v drop test? That might need some further explanation?

Hi, Murf. Matt lacquer does that, as does satin. Clear lacquer is the answer, but I do agree polished looks mighty fine too. In the end I painted mine as I didn’t fancy maintaining the polished finish and lacquer tends to yellow quite quickly. If using lacquer (clear coat) the diy cans are not the answer, unless it’s 2k.

Ditto on the pyramid kit for my 77 550 Super Sport. I also tried a taper set supplied by DSS, but they were the same. DSS kindly supplied an original ball and race set, which fitted just fine.

Hi, Ken.
That was quite some journey and thank goodness you will make a full recovery. Personally I’m extremely grateful as it saves the petrol I would have used driving over for your ‘shell collection’😁. Get well and get that Honda finished…you never know how much time you have. Best wishes always. 11

Sorry, I don’t know for certain, but I would predict ‘clear’. This prediction is based simply on my own experience in attempting to replicate the original fork finish, which seems to me at least very authentic looking.

I can only speak from limited personal experience, but my tubes dropped in easily and the bike functions perfectly.

You have shown two pictures of different petcocks. I presume you want the one shown from the CMNSL fiche?
