Thanks Dave appreciate that, I think I’ll have to get a little weld blob on the top of my stand to stop it rising so high that should solve it, many thanks for you help - Jason

Hi Dave That would be brilliant if you could, finding it frustrating to say the least, brought the bike back to life new paint job etc.. and silly little things like this don’t half cheese me off

It’s definitely a78 USA spec, I can’t seem to see anything wrong with the stand or the mount, I may have to just come up with my own solution that stops the stand coming up as far so it doesn’t touch exhaust, obviously been like it for ages as exhaust is pretty dented where they meet

Ok thank you, I’ll have another look at the weekend maybe take exhaust completely off and have a play with the stand to see if I can adjust in any way, thank you for your help

Thanks Yes does look a little worn but I still think something odd, I’d have to weld a significant blob on to stop it hitting exhaust, it needs to be about 15mm lower, but that would work

I have just checked my K3 and my side stand is also touching the exhaust pipe when it is in the parked position. To be fair I very use the side stand, when I tried the side stand with the bike on the centre stand it appears there is a bit of lateral movement around the bolt which probably means that the bolt hole in the frame is worn. I may disassemble it this weekend and have a look.
Dave
Thanks for reply Dave, my side stand when in up position touches and if the exhaust wasn’t there it would raise even higher, something can’t be right, I’ve had exhaust off and back on again and it’s in correct position and the stand or mounting bracket doesn’t look damaged, but when riding it going to constantly bang and rub damaging exhaust even more Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks Julie I was kind of thinking along the lines it might not be the correct stand as I’ve come across a couple of things that don’t seem right, doesn’t seem bent. Should it just about touch exhaust or clear it by a good amount ?

Thanks but that’s for the centre stand which is is already on my exhaust so that’s fine it the side stand that’s bangs against the exhaust

My side stand hits the exhaust when up to the point where it’s left quite a big dent, the exhausts are the originals. I presume it shouldn’t touch the exhausts at all, Has anyone got a photo of theirs they could post please or ideas how to stop it. Previous owner seemed happy to live with it but the price of these exhausts I’d rather stop it before putting a hole in it
