CB750 / Internal silencer painting

I was part of the initial group buy - had to trim the header portion of the exhausts down by several mm on every pipe in order to get the rear footrest mounting bolts to line up. They were an utter pig to fit. I called Busso out very early in the process to get them to update the welding jigs, but they just ignored any feedback and ploughed on with production. Didn’t realise they are still in business and supplying DSS.

The Busso’s are double skinned (don’t ask me how I know lol). I was thinking about doing the same re. adding drain holes.

Harold - I was just about to list these on eBay as a spares set for £60. Probably more than you want to spend, but might be a good option as a spares resource - you could re-plate/replace all of the hardware over time and swap in/out on your set. Happy to do them for £50 to a forum member. The bodies are probably too corroded to be salvegable.

Holy shite Ken, you've PROPERLY been through the ringer. Thanks for taking the time & effort to explain what happened and where you are on your journey to recovery. Makes very sobering reading. Was unsure whether to share this, as feels a bit self promotional. But what the hell, we’ve all got different passions and it’s always interesting to find out a bit more about other members interests outside of classic bikes.

Earlier this year I auditioned for the 40th Anniversary production of Les Miserables in Brighton - this is the first time Cameron Mackintosh (the producer and rights holder) has release the show to local amateur groups for 40 years. Probably the first and last time he’ll ever do it.

Anyway, after a pretty gruelling auction process we’re well underway with rehearsals, leading up to our performances in mid-August.
