Thanks for that.Is it true then that nothing can be transfered over to the cbx from the earlier bikes?

Hi just checking in.Always been mainly a Triumph man but I have always hankered after a 1970's Honda to customise to my tastes.Just been offered a 1983 cbx550 for buttons but on asking on the forum was told it's a pile of sh**te which nothing from the earlier bikes fits!I was thinking of just keeping the frame and engine and changing everything else to go down the cafe racer route.Any ideas on parts compatibility would be great.Unfortunately I can't afford to go out and buy a 70's one already done so I might have to plod on with this one.
Great forum. Wab. 4

Hi,new to the forum.Really love these Honda's espicially when in cafe racer form.My question is that I have been offered a 1983 cbx550 for next to nothing. How many of the parts from the older cb's will fit the cbx?Example:can I fit forks from a cb550 to it?Brakes?exhausts?Could I convert from monoshock to twin shocks?
Any help would be great.Thanks. ![]()
