Misc / Open / Re: Parts price increases in a falling bike value market« Last post by Athame57 on October 09, 2026, 02:01:19 AM »As the value of classic bikes go down and the price of spares goes up I do worry that demand for parts will go down significantly. When that happens there won't be a viable market to make pattern parts any more! 🤔 I think this slump in value won't last myself, could it be a UK thing? Here we have made it so hard and expensive to get a full m/c license it has hit the number of proper motorcycles on the road hard. 96
CB500/550 / Re: Tyres Help« Last post by taysidedragon on October 09, 2026, 12:17:47 AM »Most of the bikes on this forum are sohc that came with spoked wheels and tubed tyres. Both of my bikes have tubed tyres and I either fit them myself or get my local bike shop to to it. I use a tub of tyre soap that I've had for a few years, I don't do enough annual miles to wear out tyres too often.

Out & About / Re: Out and About 2026« Last post by JamesH on October 08, 2026, 09:21:30 PM »Wow James, is that the real mileage! It's very, very clean. Sorry been away from the PC and didn;'t spot the replies (Tapatalk seems to be throwing a hissy fit for me at the moment lol). Thanks for the replies. Yes the mileage is genuine - I wasn;t really in the market for one at the time, but this bike came up. One owner plus me from new - it was basically ridden to/from BMW from new to be serviced annually and MOT'd. The original owner chopped it in for a new GSA and I effectively bought from the supplying dealer. The condition is INSANE. It's literally like a 6 month old machine. I intend to ride is sparingly, but it will get ridden - maybe 500 miles / year to keep the milage down/condition preserved. It's museum quality and by god is it fun to ride.. |
