What colour paint is used on CB550 F2 Parts
« on: May 06, 2026, 06:03:39 PM »
Is there a pic or something that shows which parts are painted in Black, silver or left natural and polished?

I'm specifically looking at the front brake caliper and brackets, the rear brake control arm, and the bracing rod to the back wheel.

Thanks
Neil

Front brake caliper was always a sort of satin black, not gloss. This was both sides, front and back. The caliper arm was silver, same sort of silver as the fork sliders. Same for the upper clamp bracket.

The bracing rod is called a torque arm. Not sure when they changed tbh but early type was tubular and was steel with a coating to protect it. Later type went to a flat barwhich had a sort of fluting in the middle. Also steel with a coating.

I presume by rear brake control arm you mean the brake rod? Connects between the rear brake pedal at the front and the rear brake arm on the rear drum? If so also steel with a coating, which normally gets damaged with stone chips etc and allows the arm to start rusting.

That help?
