Newbie from Bristol

Newbie to SOHC.
I bought a '78 CB550F in November. It had been sat in a back yard for almost 20years (under tarp)
Tax expired 96.
It's done 17,000 miles and all looks complete, it runs ok but need a fair bit of work.
Plan is to cafe it a bit, without major frame change
Rust has set in, so I'm replacing wheels/spokes, new tyres.
Will powder coat frame/swing arm. Brakes are siezed, engine need servicing, carbs need setting up. Electrics are a bit weak, new seat design (based on original pan)….etc etc
I'm trying to do all the work myself (except painting) so may need lots of advice and parts.
Thanks for your help in advance !!!
Cheers Neil

Hi there, and welcome. You'll find a lot of help and advice on here, and we love watching peoples projects, so take lots of photos as it stands now, and every stage of the strip down and rebuild, and whatever you want or need to ask, someone here will know the answer. Enjoy!

Here here, Shifter from another local.
Neil, welcome. Maybe see you at the Shepton Mallet show (noon at the VJMC stand on both days - 6th & 7th Feb)?
Cheers, D.
