Wiring help - electrex reg/rec
« on: May 07, 2016, 09:21:08 PM »
Can anyone tell me which wires go where wiring in an electrex RR24 reg/rec unit into a '77 550F2?   I thought I had it right, but not charging.

I've currently got white green and 3 yellows from the generator running to the same colours on the reg/rec, and the red from the reg/rec going to battery positive and the black from reg/rec to switched power.

Should the green also be grounded back to battery negative?

Help!

Fair enough.  I've made my own custom loom so just trying to get things right.  Looking at the original wiring diagram, it looks like the green wire coming from the alternator joins with green from the rectifier and both go to ground - any idea if I'm correct on that?  If so, I've not grounded this circuit in my new loom.

Well, that was my issue - grounded the circuit and charges fine now!
