4-1 to 4-2
« on: May 08, 2016, 12:17:14 AM »
Good morning,
a very simple question,
is it possible to adapt this 4-1 (photo below) into a 4-2.
I really like the look of the exhaust on both side but cannot effort a 4-2 or 4-4.
Thanks

I know you mentioned cost, but have you seen the Marving 4-2 system? I bought one because the exhaust the bike came with was horrendous. It fitted well and looks quite smart with the pipes going each side of the bike.

Mostly I think they'll all fit each other, some of the later (F2) use a different head fitting arrangement but can be swapped over just by using the correct parts.

So for example 1976 K6 will fit 1972 K2 if that's what you've got available.

catching up on this "project "
I have managed to make the 4-2 system using som cb parts and a Y piece from another vehicle.
the result is not bad.
to improve it I need to relocate the side stand SPRING.
I've tried a few options but unsuccessfully.
can anyone help me with this?
the spring touches on the y piece and i guess it will damage on the long term.
Thanks

Does it just touch it and no more or does it interfer with the actual branch of the exhaust. The most important thing is does the stand move completely out of the way while on the move in its full tucked away position?.

the spring was touching the collector pipe, i am sure within a year of using the side stand it would have damaged it.
i fixed it by welding a support on the back of the existing one and another one on the back of the stand itself.
i'll upload pics soon.
In the meantime i am sharing the final result.
What do you think?
