Very rare in the condition of the 1st one with standard silencers. The Ashimoto rule on buying old Honda's to restore to original. Find the NOS pipes or availability of good repro's...then buy the bike. This is what I did recently with my CD125A (same as 175A sloper ...different engine).

Doesn't always work out that way Ash. I decided to do the 350F as replica pipes were available, and we all know how that turned out. :'(

Just noticed on 1st 'nice' one .... 1968 on a H plate ...don't think so. That's a late '69 or early '70 reg'd. Possibly manufactured '68

these bikes are like 400/'s ..much loved in the UK and quite often put away in the back of the garage/shed/barn and left rather than scrapping. Unusual to find a nice one though. Same as the original '68/69 CB250SS  ..very rare in nice condition .. quite  a few 'dogs' about.

1st CD175A..not seen the rear indicators mounted on the PVC mud guard before?
But, it's got the original  'sloper' exhausts, which add's a lot of value.

Yes mine 'back in the day'  was like yours Alan but the CD125A I have does not have them on the rear lamp bracket, they have been mounted on rear plastic guard. Pretty sure it was a UK only thing on the 175 mounting.

Lovely bikes though .. I am really enjoying working on the 125A. Just got the parts manuals for the models from '67->'69 for CD125 CS125 from Japan. CD175A sloper Parts Manual in my Dropbox links

Hi Ash,
Yes my F reg CD 175a has indicators mounted on a tubular extension welded to the rear number plate unit.  One other question though, mine has what appear to be original silencers but no numbers along the top - did they have stamped numbers that long ago?  My CB 77 also has un numbered silencers and a Honda receipt for two new ones in the file of stuff I got with it.  Of course the receipt might not relate to those actual units, I've been there before!!  I've had that bike nearly 20 years and I don't think that kind of repro stuff was being made back then.

I bought the CD125A PIPES Genuine NOS in Honda bags for my CD125A last month and they have no markings. (very very similar pipes to 175A)  Also have a NOS in bag CB250SS and that has no markings. Suspect markings came in around 1970 Ian as my K2 NOS one is marked HM317. Later 400/4 genuine silencers were also marked 'HONDA" plus  'SANKEI' but originals were not.

Hi Ash, your right! just checked the original shop & owners manual (April 1967) and all images show the rear indicators mounted on the plastic guard.
As your parts image F-17 perhaps a 1968+ UK market modification.
