engine numbers

HI ALL
COULD ANYBODY TELL ME IF I HAVE AN ENGLISH MODEL 1978 F2, THE FRAME NUMBER STARTS CB 750G,  AND THE ENGINE NUMBER STARTS CB 750 GE, I AM A BIT CONFUSED AS I THOUGHT FRAME NUMBER STARTED IN CB750F AND THE ENGINE NUMBERS STARTED CB750FE,AS STATED IN MARK HAYCOCKS BOOK THE HONDA 750.I CANT FIND ANY REFERENCE TO ENGINE NUMBERS IN THE FORUM, THANKS,

First of all, could you write in normal case, all upper case is SHOUTING.

But didn't get anywhere then either.

I do remember StreveD, saying that the E meant 'Export', are you trying to find out if the engine or the whole bike is an import

Thanks for your reply,sorry about shouting having problems with my keyboard,does`nt like a cup of coffee tipped over it,will buy new keyboard soon.anyway back to my engine/frame numbers,the mystery is the G andthe GE  e,g engine number is CB750G-1003798  as i thought the f series was CB750F-------

Numbers probably are correct for UK bike. One way of telling(not infalable) is are the rear indicators attached to the back light mounting bracket? as opposed to attached to the grab rail, if attached to grab rail it is probably a US bike. Other way is if it is non UK bike, there may be a vin plate showing date of mftr on head stock? Also, do lights have on/off switch?
