It passed its MOT...
« on: September 27, 2016, 06:21:59 PM »
Been working on this a little bit over the summer, and it passed its MOT today with flying colours.

I know everyone loves a picture ...

Very smart, and unusual too.  Hope the sun comes out for you.
Where's that 10mm socket got to?

Thanks. It was a DK special back in July. As far as I can tell completely original apart from some new cables. The exhausts were a surprise but managed to get them repaired locally. Rode it 'straight' home from the MOT centre and had a grin from ear to ear!

How did you get on with DK resolving the exhaust corrosion issue Al? Lovely bike BTW only ever seen a really nice one 'in the flesh' before and that was in Bakewell town centre  a couple of months ago.

They paid a large chunk of the repair bill. I managed to find a metal sheet workshop who took the job on, repaired the internals and plated the outside back up.

I've left the bike more or less original. Repaired what I needed to and left the rest. It's in a nice, unmolested condition. A few little dents and dings with rust spots, but overall a survivor.

Not bad service from DK then .. bet 'other' importers wouldn't have been so sympathetic, even though it was basically a wrong description.
that bike is better than money in the bank IMHO.
