A non SOHC WWII HD 750 V twin

Since completing my 400/4 I've had an itch for a new project.

So I went and bought this today. It's a 750 twin side valve engined WWII harley davidson. Sounds superb!! - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixIv2HzYd1A

This bike was restored at some point so whether the paint has lead in it is not known.

Great looking machine, you've got a piece of history there!.

I like that very much, not as a Harley fan but as a fan of WW2 stuff.  One of the guys in the bike club has a Willys jeep which I will warn him about the paint.
You say it's a project,  what needs doing to it?

You can get a test kit for lead paint, I've seen them in B&Q - although that must of been a while ago as I haven't been in their for years.

I do like the old jeeps but I saw one get rear ended on the A120 a few years ago by a drunk Mondeo driver at 10am

You do feel vulnerable especially on a motorway not to mention cold. Drove down to Portsmouth in the early hours to get the boat to cherbourg, frightening when you see hgvs filling your mirrors when your doing 45 mph. Even with canvas doors and sidecreens fitted my hands were hurting from the cold, and that was early June!

What you mean canvas doors don't keep you warm its defo of my list now
