Sump plug
« on: November 06, 2016, 08:18:17 AM »
This bike hates me....

Is someone playing a joke on me? Drain plug appears to be 9mm hex. 9mm!!! Every set I have has 8 & 10mm, can't find a 9mm anywhere... Not even in a drain plug kit...

Is this right, or am I right in saying it's wrong and it wouldn't have been a hex way back then?!  >:(

Can't even find a local shop to buy a 9mm from on a Sunday...
And if I claim to be a wise man, it surely means that I don't know.

From memory so probably wrong, should be a 14mm head hex bolt.

Have you got a Halfords near you, I think they do a brake caliper tool that's a 9mm Allen. If that's what you're referring to.

Image of the part from CMSNL.
3/8" is 9.5mm so probably too big. I'd be tempted to go with the mole wrench if you can get it on, hopefully the thread in the sump is OK.
