If you baby them they last OK don't just boot it thats what kept doing the box in.
The engines are dead reliable if looked after and there actually very good in the snow.

If you do it up yo won't want to get it dirty.
Watch out when reversing those they go just as fast backwards as they do forwards.
My mum reversed into a bollard and it hit the rear seats.

I don't like the way this thread is going.  I see too many bloody cars as it is.
Where's that 10mm socket got to?

Ok back to bikes I was going to use the Pegaso as my winter hack so I took it out the garage at 5am this morning started it up and got a mouth full of my neighbour. In hindsight a big thumper probabbly is a bit loud that early. That only really leaves the Guzzi and I don't think they will like that much either  ;D ;D

Tell me more about the sidecar combo. Got to be The Best fun ever in snow, makes me want to fix mine. Looks like a sweet combo.
I hope the cbr 1000 turns out good. On smaller hondas of that era I found the fat rear tyre wasn't able to grip for toffee, then when I went bigger with an ntv 650 I must shamefully admitt to passing my car test and opting for that on frosty days. This year I have totally caved in and only have a car on the road, being self employed and starting up means I want to keep cash in the bank, not spend it on a bike that cannot serve as wheels for my new bussiness what with tools etc. Totally sucks.
Got a 500/4 with rust and a sidecar and loadsa bits. nice and original and been round the clock

On Sunday mornings 7am if I take the CR or the 900ss out I push to the end of the close then roll downhill starting the bike once underway, that way nobody gets the noise for more that a few seconds, who said bikers aren't thoughtful!.
Scrambler is quiet so I fire that up on the drive, guess the CBR will also be quiet.

I live in a close to but it goes around in a loop so you hear the bike for a couple of minutes also the nearest hill must be a couple of miles away.
