400/4 SIDE PANEL
« on: November 25, 2016, 07:20:43 PM »
Hi all,
I have been searching for a while for a right side panel for my rebuild, original is cracked.
Left hand ones seem plentiful, cant understand why easier to obtain than the right hand ?
Is it because most people fall off taking right hand bends I wonder :D or is there someone with a secret stash ! :-X
Ah well I'll keep searching. :(

Karen at Low Pressure Mouldings (LPM) does excellent quality side panels at a very good price.

I can vouch for the LPM Side Panels for CB750. Their service was brilliant, and the panels are much better than the crappy originals.

Agree about the quality compared to original, far more substantial and would have to take a fair whack to crack unlike the very thin originals

Rarity of the right hand cover is probably because of its position close to the kick-start, coupled with large heavy boots!
nice bike,nothing in the bank

This unavailability is a similar problem with the same period Yamahas and probably other makes. My suspicion is due to being the battery cover, it is on and off more often? Just my feeling.

Don't you have to pull the RHS off to get to the battery too, whereas the LHS just gets ignored?

As far as I know that is the same LPM panel that Julie mentioned above, and cheaper from LPM.

You are probably right Chris. Luckily, I have never been in the unfortunate position to have to buy any side panels off DSS. We did buy 5 sets off Karen week for various CB 750's and 500's, all excellent quality and next day delivery  :) :)

Hi All,
So impressed with the people on this forum, ask anything 400/4 related and the advice comes flooding in.
Thanks all.
I'll see if it works with offers to come and build my engine back up :D
