MotoGP - Banging their heads together?
« on: January 18, 2017, 05:07:55 PM »
Hi all,

My wife loves bikes, bikers (Ok, only me, I think) and MotoGP. So I made her this for Christmas. She was delighted!

If you want to see it in action, here's my 9 second video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwFf6ZfMXRI

With more time and smaller paint brushes I could have been more accurate, but that wasn't really the point!

Cheers, D.

Nice work Drew.
Just wondering what the 'helmets' are made of. Did you nick the bells from a load of Alpine cows?

Thanks all.

I was going to make some then discovered these almost helmet-shaped bells on-line.

After dismantling the chime, I sprayed the bells black then over-painted the patterns.

I have to say, I'm rather pleased with Rossi's Donkey helmet of 2009.

Cheers, D.

I've got an perhaps irrational dislike for those technical sculptures that people make with old mechanical bits and pieces badly welded together.

But this is really good,  what a great idea and well made. Something that means more to people into bikes like this makes a nice surprise.
