Hi from South West Scotland
« on: February 26, 2017, 07:48:48 PM »
Hello to all forum members, I'm looking forward to being involved in the community.

I've just bought my first Honda, a 1974 CB350F in Candy Bacchus Olive. It was imported in 1980 and featured in the book "The Essential Buyers Guide to Honda SOHC Fours by Peter Henshaw.

According to the PO it is mostly original and unrestored, although the handlebars, mirrors and shock absorbers are not standard. It still has the original factory 4/4 exhausts although number 4 has had a few minor repairs and could probably do with replacing, if I can find one. The chrome is all original and in good condition but the paintwork is badly sun damaged and I am having it professionally resprayed. I did think about keeping it original but I just couldn't live with it.

Feedback and comments are most welcome.

Thanks Trigger, Mike & John.

The pictures flatter the paintwork, it's quite rough when seen up close.

I'll keep you updated with pictures as work progresses.

Welcome to the forum of fun.
Lovely looking bike and being a bit controversial..... I like that colour of candy green, it goes with the bike and the period. I would respray it the same colour.

That was my intention Dave, I want to keep it as original looking as possible plus I also like the colour.

Welcome.

Lovely bike, like the 400/4 the scale against the larger 4's is what appeals to me. Such superb engineering. Possibly more so with the pipe detail too. Cherish it mate.
One day I'll have the time to restore it, not just talk and dream....

Hi and welcome to the Forum. Some brilliant, brilliant people on here and there is no shortage of knowledge, experience and a genuine willingness to help other Honda Folk. I am also a member on some Triumph Forums, but this one is the best one by miles.

If look at Roy Hall's post from a year or so ago.....just click on his 'Profile' then his 'Posts' - you'll be able to follow the saga of his CB350 Four. Roy's bike is an absolute stonker - it's even the same colour as yours and although he did a complete rebuild, I'm sure that you'll find lots of stuff of interest to you and hopefully it will inspire you to achieve a bike as nice as Roy's.

We like photos on here so don't be afraid of posting them !
Now: 2008 CB1300S, CB750K4, 1970 Bonneville. Various other 1960's 650 Triumph T120's/ TR6's/ TR6C's (all in bits...many, many bits unfortunately). Previous: 2007 CB600FA, 1976 CB500 Four. BMW F800ST. GS750E. ZZR1100. CB1300 (2). ZXR1200S. VFR800. CB750 Nighthawk. CX500. XS500 Yam. Suzuki GT500. BSA A10. Various Lambrettas. Zundapp Bella (honest).

Thanks for that. I'll take a look Roy's post, I just started stripping it down this evening so should be a useful read.

Thanks. I do have a few questions but should probably start a new post. What would be the best section for that?
