CB750 Oil Pipe Nut sealing
« on: April 19, 2017, 06:14:27 PM »
As I've built my CR750 from bits, my oil pipes have been one of the bits I've sourced. I've butchered the fittings to make new oil lines up for the CR oil tank and oil cooler but the nut fittings that fits to the underside of the oil tank (same as standard oil tank) doesn't have any sort of seal within the nut. I've checked on the CSML schematics and there's no separate seal listed.
Save me stripping my standard K2 bikes oil lines to find out what seals are used, can anybody tell me what seal is used - o ring, flat rubber seal or fibre washer?
Thanks
Phil

:) originally they came with soft white metal washers from honda.there is no part number for them so i assume they only came with new oil pipes
but im sure copper is ok aswell as there is not a lot of pressure in the actual oil tank
britt bikes use fibre washers but that still dont stop em leaking lol

I also was surprised to find metal washers in the fittings on my 750F1 oil lines as they were not listed on the parts book, now I know that it wasn't a production line bodge up.
