Softening up old Cush drive rubbers
« on: April 21, 2017, 07:17:31 PM »
Myncush drive rubbers are rock hard. Is there anything I can do to try and soften them up? Replacements seem extortionate!

Not long lasting things, better off buying new ones even if they are not cheap.

Ashimoto is the man who knows, he made a strange "Witches brew" that contained wintergreen  oil among other things, worked for inlet rubbers and other bits. Sure he'll be along soon and be able to tell you more about it. (Or send him a p.m.)

It doesn't contain Wintergreen ...thats the USA guys who use that & trigger has tried it .. Its Reofos50 that  I use at 75°C for 16 hours then post cure dry at 75°C. I wouldn't recommend using  it on cush drive rubbers though.

At least you can still get cush drive rubbers, the cush drive rubbers in the middle of the clutch aren't available - don't think they ever were.
Where's that 10mm socket got to?

A German forum makes sets of them  Mike but won't sell to non-members.
