Carb setup Adjustment for Cb750 with 836 Kit
« on: June 22, 2017, 08:52:08 PM »
Hi All
I need some guidelines please

I think this subject might have been discussed many times.

I have just upgraded my bike with an 836 Kit and when i start to accelerate bike misses out abit then ok. Also on idling its ok.

What set up carbs as in Jets and needle position and air filter would you recommend I start with ? The current jets are 40 and 105 and needle in middle.

Also from were is a good source to buy the Jets?

I would like to keep the stock air box since the bike has just been restored. Ive read that a K n high flow air filter would also help?

I know that not all engines are the same but a guidline were to start would be great.

Thanks guys

I have a 736 that's running 138 mains in PD41A carbs (pod filters and 4 into 1) it runs fine with no flat spots, I'd be tempted to go up a few sizes on your mains, as always check your float heights are correct, fuel level is vital to carburation, what colour are your plugs?.
PS NRP carbs are a good source for your jets and advice.

I am running a standard compression 836 kit (cruzinimage) with standard airbox and standard exhaust on my K2. I'm running standard jets (I think its 110 main jets). On the CR750 road bike I'm building I have the same 836 kit but will be running 4 into 4 CR750 straight through exhaust and standard carbs with foam pod filters - that will be a different proposition!

My needle is on the middle setting - it runs very slightly rich (slightly darker sandy colour) but not that it seems to affect the running. Air screws on 1 turn out. Hope that helps - good luck

Thanks to all those on helping on this .

I have an update

Finally the bike is running great ( lets say up till now after around 120 Km)

The final set up of the carbs are as follows to go with the 836 kit

Changed needles new ones ( from Cruizin image ) installed them not in middle but second slot from bottom , slow jet new 38 from Honda and other jet is 110 Also from Honda

Air screw turned 2 rounds out

Plug colour nice slightly dark brown.

Will see how continues . Today was the second day out with on this setting and I am super happy with it
