My other bikes
« on: August 29, 2017, 09:52:38 PM »
This is my RD250F, restored by me, not a show winner but a regular rider.

Honda C90ZZ original and unrestored, no rust on the frame.... great fun, shown here at the famous Squires Cafe a couple of years ago.

NSR250SP MC21, not restored but full engine rebuild, done a couple of track days and plenty of rideouts, not a show winner or museum piece but great fun.

ZZR1100, workhorse and touring bike, trips to France and the IOM..

The NSR is a stunning looking machine, there's something about the Rothmans colours, second only (our maybe equal to) to the suzuki heron livery on Sheenes RG500 IMO.
Suzuki GT250A (Nostalgia)
1977 K7 CR750 (lookalike, what of I’m not sure)
Ducati 900SS (Soul & Speed)
Ducati M900 Monster (Handling & character)
Thruxton 1200 (suits me)
James Captain 197 (pure adrenaline, i.e. no brakes!)
"Eff yir gitten awvestear yir gooin te farst"
Sir J.Stewart.

Thanks for the comments... yes the NSR is a great little machine, so compact and goes really well.... feels how I imagine a GP bike might feel, kind of harsh but handles beautifully.. Would be a real track tool in the right hands (not mine lol) the dry clutch rattle always gets people looking over to see what it is. 8)

Being a Honda fan, obviously the C90 is the best of them, probably most reliable as well ;D Question is, what happened to the air filter cover from it?
If it's got tits or wheels, it's hassle, if it's got both, RUN!!!

I've always been a honda man myself.... although i like the RD 2 Strokes too... The NSR is way better looking than the C90 😄 . Ive known the original owner of the C90 since I was about 6 or 7. It belonged to his Dad who bought it brand new in 1983 but sadly suffered a heart attack and passed away before he got to use her. My mate then rode her for a couple of years before putting her in the garage where she stayed until I bought her about 4 years ago. He had removed the plastics to make her a little slimmer and had managed to lose the air filter cover and a couple of other parts. So i now have a pattern cover fitted since the photo. She only has 4k on the clock but the chrome is a little pitted.... but otherwise in great condition. My mates dad waxoyled the whole frame as soon as he bought her hence the lack of rot.

A C90 was my first bike,  in hearing aid brown.   No street cred at all but it got me in to biking.   Rode it everywhere, even down to Cornwall, Youth Hostelling, until a 400four turned up.  The 90 was then totally ignored until the day of the driving test when I had to blow the dust off it and ride it for an hour.  That was the last time I ever rode it.
Where's that 10mm socket got to?

My first bike was a silver Honda CB100N, my twin bro had a brown one, UEE 54T and UEE 53T.... they were good little learner bikes, most of my pals had fizzies and then RD250's...  I waited a couple of years befor I bought an RD250F, had it 2 months before somebody stole it from the bike shed at work JUA 431V, never saw it again.... My cub is painfully slow but great fun. She's off the road at the mo in need of a bit of fettling... oil passing from the crank case into the points cover.
