Yes we took about .2mm from the shaft so there was less to take out of the selector , the problem was the selector had worn in an oval shape and it was better to reduce the shaft dia a little to compensate, I had help from a friend who repairs steam engines so a few cups of tea and sorted, we made a washer either side and all held in with a split pin.. there was so much play in it before, gear changes will be much better now!
